Meet Our Instructors

Tony Lee

Tony is an instructor from Hong Kong who trained under some of the most prestigious dive institutions in the industry. He completed his Divemaster certification at Blue Season in Bali, and went on to earn his Instructor license at Deep Sea Divers Den—a legendary 30-year veteran shop on the Great Barrier Reef. Certified as both a PADI and NAUI Instructor, Tony has exceptionally solid foundational skills. Safety, stability, and reliability are exactly what define Tony here at OKIDIVE! In 2019, he further elevated his expertise by becoming an SDI Instructor Trainer, making him the very first Chinese SDI Instructor Trainer in Japan!

Tony has been highly active in premier dive destinations across the globe, including the Philippines, Sabah (Malaysia), Bali (Indonesia), the Similan Islands (Thailand), the Great Barrier Reef (Australia), Mainland Japan, and Okinawa. He also has rich experience coaching famous Hong Kong celebrities!

  • Nickname: The Underwater Radar — No matter how rare, big, or tiny a marine creature is, Tony will find it for you!

  • Signature Skill: Secretly plotting... (Always thinking of new ways to make your dive more fun!)

Kytus Ho

Kytus is an instructor from Hong Kong whose passion for the ocean has taken him across more than half the globe. A prominent figure in the diving community, his adventures have been heavily featured by Hong Kong media, with popular travel outlet GoTrip once writing, "If scuba diving were an Olympic sport, Kytus would absolutely qualify to represent Hong Kong." Kytus is undoubtedly the star celebrity instructor of OKIDIVE! In 2019, he reached another milestone by becoming the very first SDI Instructor Trainer in Japan, giving him the authority to train and certify new instructors.

Experience

Kytus is the undisputed King of Discovery Scuba Diving—the very activity that made him famous. Back during his days at the Great Barrier Reef, media outlets praised him as potentially the best Chinese-speaking instructor on the reef. To date, he has guided over 3,000 guests. He is also one of the select coaches entrusted with training US Military personnel stationed in Okinawa. Prior to this, he served as the Head Instructor and General Manager for a premier dive shop in Samoa. Between 2013 and 2019, Kytus was featured in specialized interviews by Hong Kong and Taiwan media at least once every single year. From Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Vietnam, to Cambodia and the Pacific Islands... it's safe to say Brother Kai has dived across all four oceans!

  • Nickname: The Underwater Heater — Hold onto Brother Kai underwater, and you will instantly feel like you have a built-in sun warming you up!

  • Signature Skills: Palm of Overturning Clouds, Kamehameha (Turtle Power Wave), Underwater Handstands, and the Ocean Moonwalk!

Janet Lee

Janet is an instructor from Hong Kong who was born and raised right here at OKIDIVE. As our most senior student-turned-coach, her technical skills are second to none. Today, she is a true powerhouse in the diving industry—making history in 2019 as the very first female SDI Instructor Trainer in Japan! While she is famous for maintaining her poker-faced "resting black face" 24/7, her bulletproof stability and delightfully quirky conversation style have won her 100% glowing reviews from our guests.

Experience

Janet passed through OKIDIVE’s legendary "hell-style training" from her Advanced Open Water course all the way to her professional ratings. She later earned her PADI Instructor certification in Thailand, where she completely crushed her instructor exams—either scoring perfect marks or coming incredibly close to perfect across every single category! With years of intensive field experience under her belt, she has risen to god-tier status in the diving world, breaking boundaries as one of the very few elite women globally to achieve the rank of Instructor Trainer.

  • Nickname: The Executive (High Management)

  • Signature Skill: Gigglin' while maintaining her poker face!

Andy

Andy is also an instructor from Hong Kong who joins us after a successful stint in Australia. He is a truly multi-talented professional—ranging from a university professor to a Course Director for instructor programs! As the ultimate "star junior disciple" of Brother Kai, Andy also shares a background in psychology and incorporates psychological elements into his scuba training. This unique approach helps divers completely ease their minds and feel incredibly secure underwater. He brings an elite, calming style that is uniquely his own!

Experience

Andy began his diving career as an intern at Blue Safari on Taiwan's Green Island before heading to Australia to broaden his horizons. He earned his Divemaster certification at Reef Safari in the Whitsunday Islands, where he gained extensive experience catering to guests from all corners of the world. He later successfully obtained his Instructor credentials in Cairns and proudly joined the OKIDIVE family in 2018.

Yuchi (The Grand Artist of OKIDIVE)

Yuchi is a Chinese-speaking instructor who began her diving journey in 2017. She earned her Divemaster certification under the direct mentorship of Head Instructor Tony in 2022, and went on to achieve a flawless double-perfect score on her PADI Instructor Exam in Bali, Indonesia, in 2023. Capable of teaching fluently in Mandarin, English, and Japanese, she is highly active across Tokyo, Osaka, and Okinawa. Yuchi lives and breathes diving—so much so that after every single dive, she hand-draws her experiences into her logbook! As OKIDIVE's official resident artist, she is hands-down the best logbook painter in the entire diving industry. She is also a passionate eco-warrior and a true expert at waste sorting and marine conservation.
